Our Club

BC Olympiakos Zurich was founded in January 1991. In its first season, 1991/92, the club entered the league with a women’s team, a men’s team, and a junior team in the 4th division. In that first year, both the women’s and men’s teams were promoted to the 3rd division, and the women’s team also won the championship.

In the 1993/94 season, the women’s team was already playing in the 2nd division and narrowly missed promotion to the 1st division in 1994. After another season, the team had to be withdrawn because of numerous departures, so Olympiakos Zurich was without a women’s team for many years.

After a period of consolidation, a new run of success began around the club’s tenth anniversary: the first men’s team won the championship twice in a row and earned promotion up to the 2nd Liga Inter in 2004 and 2005. Around the twentieth anniversary, the rebuild of the women’s team also began.

From the 2012/13 season onward, Olympiakos Zurich was again represented by both a women’s and a men’s team. In 2016, a second women’s team, formerly HoPro-Dubendorf, was integrated. Since 2018, the club has again competed with one women’s team.

The team continued to develop, was promoted to the 1st division in 2024, and immediately finished 2nd. In 2025, the 1st division championship followed. Today, Olympiakos Zurich stands for ambitious basketball, a strong club community, and the development of players.
